What a day!

It's a gorgeous day today--blue skies, sun is shining, a little cold, but all in all its a beautiful day.

 

How are you coming with your quilt?  Are you having any questions or problems?

Hi there,  I hope you are enjoying working on our quilt.  I know that I am.  

A couple things that have been brought to my attention--this heat and bond feather lite is a little picky on how hot your iron is.  Not too hot is probably the best suggestion.  If you find that your pieces aren't "sticking" use a glue stick to keep them in place.  Just a little, on the middle of the piece will hold it in place while you stitch.

Also,  the silver fabric for the pitchfork and shovel...don't use best press on the wrong side of the fabric to get the wrinkles out.  The Best press reacts to the backing and it's not a pretty site!!  So, a damp cloth on the right side of the fabric should do the trick.

OOOOO, I can't wait to see what you have all done.

A New Beginning!!

Hi!  Welcome to the Sandy Cotton Shop Block Party 2014. 

 This year I have chosen the quilt called Garden Quilt by Amy Bradley. 

 

This blog will keep us going during the month to finish our blocks,  tips, techniques, and most of all to record ALL the fun we are going to have. 

 

Here's a picture of what the first 2 blocks will be.  (I still have to stitch around everything, but...it's a sneak peek!!)

 

 

I am SO excited and can not wait to meet new friends and re-acquaint with old friends.  (I didn't mean that you are old, old  just pre- 2014 friends!!)
