Spring has Sprung!

YEAH!

I'm so happy to have seen so many of you in class yesterday!  We  missed those that couldn't make it.  You have all come SO far.  What a blast to see what you have done, and I can't wait to see more.

Here are a few close up's of the topiaries.  The originals are hanging at the shop.  Let me know if you need a different picture. 

 I did do the eye on the bird with all six strands of black floss in a french knot.  I'm not happy with it, and may try a different color. 

I'm thinking that I didn't do a very good job talking about the foot that I use for my applique.  This is a clear open toed foot.  I love it.  When Sidney told me I needed one years ago, I thought...no I don't.  Well...I was WRONG!!   It's amazing and allows you to see where you are going.  If you don't have one, I highly recommend getting one!

What a day!

It's a gorgeous day today--blue skies, sun is shining, a little cold, but all in all its a beautiful day.

Hi there,  I hope you are enjoying working on our quilt.  I know that I am.  

A couple things that have been brought to my attention--this heat and bond feather lite is a little picky on how hot your iron is.  Not too hot is probably the best suggestion.  If you find that your pieces aren't "sticking" use a glue stick to keep them in place.  Just a little, on the middle of the piece will hold it in place while you stitch.

Also,  the silver fabric for the pitchfork and shovel...don't use best press on the wrong side of the fabric to get the wrinkles out.  The Best press reacts to the backing and it's not a pretty site!!  So, a damp cloth on the right side of the fabric should do the trick.
